We’re Joana & André, and we’ve been dreaming together since we started dating at 14 — back in 2005. We've been exploring the world side by side since 2008. And we've never taken “no” for an answer. Because life is made of moments that don’t repeat themselves. And dreams weren’t made to be adapted.

Our wedding was never the end of something. It was always the beginning. That’s how the Eternal Honeymooners concept was born — our way of living love: with presence, intention, and emotion in every journey.
We carry our original wedding dress and suit with us, and every time we wear them again — in some of the most beautiful places in the world — we feel something magical.As if we were reliving our first “I do” — only stronger, and with even more wonder.
We’ve celebrated this concept in over 25 countries — because love isn’t something to keep to ourselves. It’s something to celebrate. Always.

How our love story began…
We met at 14, fell in love, and chose to walk through life — and across the world — hand in hand. Our journey had tears, laughter, distance, and resilience. But above all, it had presence, purpose, and a love that never stopped growing.
the dream was born
We were 14 when, at a birthday party, Joana spilled Coca-Cola on herself. André took off his jacket and offered it to her. In that simple gesture — without even knowing it — our story had just begun.
2005
On those first school trips, we were already holding hands
It was also then that we boarded our first flight together — and discovered a love that would last a lifetime: traveling as two.
2008
We had a long-distance relationship: Joana went to university in Coimbra, and André was playing professional football in Paris.
2010
2015
The trips we took together were the highlights of our year. We would reunite in different parts of the world, and with every destination, we felt even closer. As a couple, we travelled to more than 20 countries — and that’s where our love grew even stronger.
May 7, 2015 - A "YES" in the rain
At Joana’s final Serenata of Queima das Fitas, as the rain fell and the fado “Balada a Coimbra” echoed through the night, André held her close under his academic cloak. And to the sound of the refrain “dreams are born here”, he asked her to marry him.

May 7, 2016 - A wet wedding is a blessed one
One year later, we got married under pouring rain.
We didn’t get the photos we had imagined, but we had everything that truly matters: love, truth, and a perfect day — in our own way.

2017
May 7, 2016 - The Honeymooners Blog is Born
When we started planning our honeymoon, we were told our dream was impossible. But after years of traveling together, we knew our dreams had no limits. We created our own journey and, to make it even more special, we brought our wedding dress and suit with us. We shared that adventure on social media — and without meaning to, we inspired the world.
2019
Shortly after our wedding, Joana was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma). It was eight months of treatment — and André stood by her side every step of the way. We faced it all together, in silence, with courage and total surrender. Joana recovered. We had to postpone a few dreams, but postponing never meant stopping dreaming.
2021
May 7, 2021 – The Honeymooners agency is born
After years of traveling together — and overcoming the greatest challenge of our lives — we decided to turn our passion into something bigger. On May 7, 2021, we launched Honeymooners — and within the first three days, we received 2,500 honeymoon requests. A dream that was once just ours… became the dream of thousands of couples.

Despite Joana’s medical challenges and the cautious opinions of doctors, Joana & André were blessed with a miracle baby: João Maria. A quiet victory — and the greatest journey of all.

May 7, 2025 – Honeymooners goes global
With a team spread across multiple continents, Honeymooners began creating dream journeys for couples and families all over the world — sharing our passion for crafting meaningful moments with every couple we meet.
